What an answer is, and what you may do with it

What you get

An answer is a simulation: a representative sample of synthetic people, each answering in character from attributes drawn from public statistics. It comes with its interval, the people behind the number and the reasons they give. The first hundred profiles of every question are free; full runs are arranged through the form on the answer page.

What it is not

It is not a survey of real people, not a poll, and not a prediction we guarantee. Every kind of question carries its measured distance from real survey answers, and every answer says which; use that number, not our name, to decide how much to trust it. Decisions you take on an answer are yours.

What you may do

Use, quote and share answers, with or without attribution, inside your organization and in public. Ask any question that is lawful and that does not try to identify, target or harm a real person or group. Do not scrape the site, resell the free sample, or present an answer as a survey of real people.

What we promise, and what we do not

We keep the site available and honest: the population’s checks are published, the accuracy record is stated on every answer, and the gallery shows real questions. We do not promise that any answer is right, that the service is uninterrupted, or that a question you ask will stay private (see privacy). To the extent the law allows, our liability for an answer is limited to what you paid for it, which for the free sample is nothing.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes, and the changelog says what moved.
